internet bypass?

the one thing you can do to bypass using the given internet connection..is use ur wi-fi..the thing with that issue is that there isn't always connections available..if u don't have the internet package on ur phone and try to connect it will let u but u will be chard per kb transfer and with this phone..u can rack up a charge of 200 for being on for like 5min..so I would say just be safe and pay the monthly,is really up to u..if u don't go on that much u don't have to...

as for aim, if u don't have the medianet package for the 8125 I believe that u will be charged per text..10cents I believe..maybe someone else knows a loop whole but to be honest I don't think there is..

I just got the 8125 today, and I've installed agile messenger on it. I also bought the unlimited data plan for the phone, If I use agile messenger, it won't count towards my text messeges?

I'm assuming since it requires internet connection that it wouldn't count towards text messages... you may want to double check with your provider though.

No. Agile Messenger uses the cellular data connection for all of it's messaging. you don't have to worry about your text messages.

Wow thats great! Wait, doesn't the AIM work in the same way? One of the representatives of Cingular told me that when I send a messege through AIM on my phone, it'll count as a text messege. Sorry to ask, but I just want to make sure, cause I signed up for the $30 MediaNet plan which gives me 1000 Text messeges, and Agile messenger doesn't need it, I'll which the plan to the 200 text messeges, which is cheaper. Thanks a lot in advanced.

I have an 8125, Agile Messenger, and the unlimited data plan. I have yet to see any agile messenger messages show as text messages.

although it may be late, here's what I have done to cut the cost in half on cingular. I have my unlocked MDA running on cingular right now, but on my account, i have an IMEI of a standard LG CE500. this allows me to sign up for the 19.99 unlimited data package instead of the 40.00 unlimited PDA package. Granted, the internet is not as fast in some areas, I still save 20.00 a month by doing this. All you have to do is find someone who's willing to log into cingular and change your IMEI to a standard phones IMEI.

Thanks a lot for the help. I have another question though if you guys don't mind. Sometimes when I'm on the phone, the call drops, and its not the service. The 8125 says that the modem has disconnected, and its annoying cause it does it often, anyway to fix this? Thanks for any help.

Data packages

Hello guys.
I just got the 8125 and this is my first post.
What's the difference between the 19.99 unlimited data package and the 40.00 unlimited PDA package? is it there you can do with the PDA package that you can't with the other?

how much internet data do you want. if you tether you phone to a laptop you will end up paying alot on data use. buy the $40.00 data plan for full internet, and you can use your laptop where you have a signal. a lot of places i go don't have wifi.

I just want to browse and check my emails. I won't attach it to a laptop. I traded my laptop for a desktop, that's why I got the 8125. I plan to buy one of the unlimited packages, but I don't know what you can do with the 40 bucks plan that you can't with the 19.99

just for email the unlimited 19.95 will work just fine. find a free hotspot and check it without the medianet plan and save the 19.95.
