HP IPaq screen viewing adjust outdoors in full sun

Does anybody have advice on what I can do to make the screen more readable on our HP Ipaq when it is used outside in the full sun? We have developed a WM5 app that is to be used outside but we are finding the view on the screen is hard to read when outside in the sunlight. Adjusting screen brightness to max doesn't seem to help. Anybody try inverting the color scheme if that helps? (e.g. black background, white foreground)

Welcome to our forum...
Have you tried setting the brightness to the lowest insted of brightest?
I think youy can do this by pressing the power buttons a couple of seconds to turn off the lights..
