mini sd memory cards..

ok I know I'm not that dumb when it comes to computer lingo..so I know that 2gb is roughly 2000mb.. why does my brand new 2gb memory card only have about 1000 mb free? tell me I'm not losing my mind..

it should have at least 1980 with no files on it.

That is exactly what i am saying. I guess thats what happens when you buy over the internet. I mean i really dont mind. 1 GB is plenty of space, but the fact of the matter is that I paid for a 2GB card, i should get 2gb of space. Regardless if i only paid 46 bucks for it. =)

You're right about that, but have you tried to re-format your SD card, there might be some hidden files or file format that your pocket pc cannot read that is why its only showing you 1000mb...

yea if your computer has a solt for the sd card, most newer computers do, you should be able to see any hiden files.

so me and tim tryed a program called flash format. i was able to format the card in a lower fat format..but yet no luck..so im stuck having to mail it back and wait for a replacement..hopefully the replacement is a full 2gb this time

Wow, that's sad. I agree with the peron who posted second, it should have at LEAST 1900 Mb

So an update on the whole deal, I unfortunetly had to send the card back. I was so excited to get all that storage to test programs, but it is going to have to wait. They are replacing the card if they cannot format it to fat, which i believe wont help, because Tim and I tried to do it, and it still only had 978 MB. So in other words my 1900 mb should be here sometime next week. Then the fun begins.

i got a 1gig mini sd for my K-jam on ebay for 3 bucks, Ebay man, ebay, they have warrantys n things
