SD card for iPAQ 2190 - how many gig?

Hi,
This is my first post. I am getting my first ever pocket PC tomorrow. A HP iPAQ 2190 and need to buy an SD card for it. I was wondering what capacity card it is compatible with? I was thinking of getting a 2Gb card which I can get for AU$110 which seems reasonable but just wondered how high I could go before the PPC didn't recognize the card or played up.
Anyone know?
Thanks!

Hey PDAskinc, welcome to PocketPCAddict and to the PPC world! As for your memory question, I've used cards as high as a 6 gig microdrive and 2 gig SD cards with no issues whatsoever. I'm not aware of a real limit of how much Windwows Mobile can access/address, there probably is, but I just don't know.

Personally, I'd get as big a card as possible, you'll never regret having too much storage space.

Better get the highest capacityyou can get, if you plan to use your pocket pc for movies, mp3's and other Files. New pocket pc and WM5 can preety much handle the large capacity memory Cards.

Hi Skinc,

You have two available slots on the 2190 a SD and a CF slot. There is a known issue with some of the Hx2000 series devices that causes it to lock and drain the battery if you use an SD card. HP is issuing ROM updates via their site at the moment, check to see if yours is affected. SD is now cheaper than CF pound per Mb unless you go for microdrives, but you might want to keep your CF slot free for something else? I have a 2Gb SD card which I use to store mapping and about 600 MP3 songs on and a Sysonchip CF GPS card. This means I have an integrated MP3/GPS/PDA device.

Thanks for the input. I got a 4Gb card and I'm very happy with my choice. Is there an issue with it being recognized all the time? I seemed to have to remove and replace it once after syncronizing in order for it to be recognized in the Pocket PC.

Glad you are happy, is it a SD or CF card?

It's an SD. I have a small (128Mb) CF card that I had in a camera also. It doesn't hold much but it was a start until I bought the 4 Gb SD card.
