Talking HP RX3115 Touchscreen not responding.

I have had my pocket pc for 18 months now & it has worked almost perfectly until the touch screen started going crazy!

For 2 days when I would hit some of the keys it would display the key underneath & to the left of the one I hit & it would not back space.

Then on the 3rd day it stoped responding all together. I did a soft & hard reset with no luck. I have backed up my data.

Has anyone cracked open the case to see if any ribbon cables may have come undone or is my touchscreen dead ?

Hi, Long Life Dave !!!
It sounds like your touchscreen went on to another plane of existence...
Myself, I went through 2 Treo600's due to screen problems... hey, they take a lot of wear and tear...

Your best bet is to call tech service at your provider's #, and if you have insurance, then you'll probably get the phone replaced.

Good luck! .......... Manny

Smile Touchscreen is dead !!!

Hey Manny,

Thanks for the reply. I have finally resolved myself to the reality that this HP RX3115 screen is dead !!! BUT, I have found my extended warranty from Best Buy & they will give me a full in-store credit of $320. I'll take it !!

That's great that the extended warranty came in handy (most often it doesn't). Make sure you pick up another Pocket PC with your $320! (maybe an HP iPAQ rx1955? )

Congrats!
You might try a VGA pocket pc with WM5.

Hi, Long Life Dave !!!
I second Murduck's recommendation: Windows Mobile 5 is a whole 'nother trip compared to Palm... kind of like having a JamesBond Special after driving a sturdy, reliable, Volvo: you wonder what all the buttons and alternatives are for and soon you're hooked on all of the alternatives!
