My PDA screen fades/jitters/disappears

I have a Mio Mitac 168 (with windows pocket pc 2003) which also doubles as a GPS. It was working fine for the last 16 months. All of a sudden, few days back, when I turn it on, the screen turned wierd. Vertical lines started appearing which ran up and down throughout the screen, colors changed and slowly faded off. I tried both resetting and hard resetting the pda but the same thing happens. The screen is almost blank. Occasionally I hear a beep when I reset the pda. Can anyone help me. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that is happening to your Mio MiTAC 168 mybadmiomitac! My guess is that your Mio finally met its maker (or the screen did at least). Your best bet is to either get a replacement LCD screen or get a new device... good luck!

I agree with Tim... PDA and PPC screens are kindof subject to different types of damage, though they do take a lot of abuse, too.

Just in case, remember that if you have insurance on your equipment you might be able to get it replaced with a new unit! (never disregard the obvious!)

Good luck!
