After 3 long faithful years, I've encountered my first problem with my Toshiba e310, hopefully it isnt one to make it my last. Yesterday, while i was opening file explorer, it was taking soo long and it looked completely frozen, so i decided to soft reset it, which usually works just fine. But this time, the screen froze as it was, and did not respond to the soft reset at all. I waited and waited, and slowly the picture seemed as if it just melted away and then there was nothing but a blank screen. Since that, its not turning on at all! I gave it a full charge and hoped that would do the trick, no luck! I tried a hard reset too, but it doesnt respond at all. Does anyone have any idea whats wrong and what I could do?
I'm so sorry to hear that your Toshiba e310 finally bit the dust. Here are my speculations:
You might have a completely dead battery.
Something might have shorted.
Something might be loose.
...or your e310 finally went to Pocket PC heaven...
In addition to charging your battery I'd check the connections or even try getting a new battery to test it out. The "screen slowly melting away" usually occurs when your perform a hard reset or when you immediately remove the battery.
Also, welcome to the forums, I'm sorry you had to make your first post like this, but we are here for you!
Thanks alot Tim for your help . I took a deep breath, accepted my loss and got a new pocket pc, a Fujitsu Loox 600, am loving it already. But I have a problem setting up the wireless network connection, its the first time im trying. I'll ask that in another post.
That's great news that you have purchased a new Fujitsu LOOX 600. Don't forget to update the device in your profile, and let us know if you have any questions! (other than the one you have already asked )
