My VX6700 used to vibrate or chime appointment reminders. Now it does not. I have installed MS Voice Command which works well and I believe my reminders worked after the installation, but I must have changed something because now I cannot get back the reminders. Anyone out there with suggestions?
If Microsoft Voice Command is installed it is set by default to say the reminders rather than chiming at you. If I were you I'd check your Voice Command settings in your settings folder.
Unfortunately, that is not the answer. I turned off the "announce appointment" option. Still no chime. I'm thinking of deleting the program, seeing what happens and then reload it.
Did you check in Sounds & Notifications if every settings has been set there? Verify if under Sounds tab if Notifications (alarms, reminders) is checked.

I'm bumping this topic, because I have the exact same issue on my Cingular 8125.
After installing Voice Command, I disabled the "Announce calendar reminders" setting and my calendar reminders went away altogether -- no alarm at all, nor will it wake up my device. I even tried disabling the whole program in settings. All the WM5 settings are correct for the calendar reminders, but they just don't work. I suspect the program is tinkering with the registry.
I guess I could live with spoken reminders, but they don't vibrate. Anyway, I turned off this option, because when I did a soft reset, it would go through announcing all my past appointments in my calendar, one at a time!!! Also, when I re-enabled the option, it does the same thing, announcing all my past appointments. Plus, I prefer a standard alarm to a spoken alarm anyway. Nice voice recognition, but this feature is lame.
I haven't uninstalled the program yet, but I may have to.
Was a solution ever found? I'm experiencing much the same except I get almost no reminders at all. This includes calendars, voicemail, alarms, etc. The only notification I get any more is when I receive a phone call that is just the message, no ringer, no vibrate no nothing.
I receive no vibration or LED notifications either. Doesn't matter if I force the settings to vibrate. Been through all the notification settings etc. No good.
My issue started when I set an alarm without the speaker on. Got the notification you need to turn on the speaker to get the alarm. Turned the speaker on after closing the warning message and the alarms page. When the alarm went off I got the vibrate and ringer but no reminder dialog so I was unable to turn off the alarm, snooze, or anything. The alarm eventually quit on it's own but nothing has worked ever since. If I set an alarm I get nothing at all. Not even a message.
Tried a soft reset with no luck.
Had a similar issue with my old iPaq but a soft reset did the trick.
I have to believe something in the OS is constipated but not familar enough with WinPPC to know where to start looking. If anyone has seen this and knows a fix would be most appreciated!
I'll keep looking for an answer and post any solution if I find one.
My problem was solved when I downloaded the software update from Verizon. That required a hard boot which wiped out all my other programs, but fortunately, I was able to reinstall those without too much hassle.
What I cannot tell you is if hard booting (sticking your sylus into the small hole next to the USB port will accomplish anything. It would be worth trying as I don't believe that will cause you to lose any of your installed programs.

Good luck.

What you did is upgrade the ROM, so what basically happen is you device was Hard Reset, that is why everthing was was set like the first time you got your pocket pc.
Sticking your stylus into the small hole mean you are just making a soft reset or in PC term its just re-starting you device. Don't worry you won't loose any data by just soft resetting..
