I'd like to start by saying that I'm new to this forum (and to PPCs and SD-card in general ), so if this thread is in the wrong cathegory then by all means move to it's correct place. And this is not directly related to PPCs, rather in-built card readers.
The case is this; I have a 128 MB WMV-video file that ActiveSync keeps transferring to about 35-40%, then the counter zeroes and starts over, till it again reaches 35-40% and so on. It never finishes the transfer. So I've come to realize that transferring my videofile this way is impossible, due to some filesize restrictions, right?
So the other option would be transfer directly to the SD card. Now here's the question! I have an Acer Aspire 1802 WSMi with an (apparently) built-in SD card reader in the side. Now, do I have to install drivers or a separate program to my laptop for the reader to recognize the card, cause when I plug in my 512 MB card into the sideslot, nothing happens..
After you plug the card in the slot, you should have another drive listed in "My Computer". You should not need any other drivers. If this doesn't work try rebooting the laptop. You may or may not see anything happen automatically.
You do have to push the card in until it clicks (same as in the PDA slot)
However I try, the machine simply doesn't react to the card (even with a complete restart with the card still in the slot). Guess the reader must be broken somehow..
