Toshiba e310 Touch Screen Not Responding

Hi My Toshiba e310 Pocket PC touch screen is not responding properly. It sometimes picks up the taps. Most of the time its just dead. I suspect its a dust problem but dont know for sure. I dont know if dust can get behind the PDA screen. I tried tapping without the screen protector also but it was of no use. Any help / suggestion on how to solve this problem will be deeply appreciated Thanks In Advance

Welcome to Pocket PC Addict fragger_fox! Unfortunately it seems that your e310's digitizer (the touch screen part of the LCD) is on the road to digitizer heaven. I believe at this point the best thing to do is to get another PDA as you probably wont find a replacement screen for this unit. Even if you did, it would probably cost you and arm and leg--money that could be spend on other PDA. Sorry for the bad news!

I cleaned the entired face of the PDA with Spirit (The same kind they use in Hospitals) clearing every inch of dirt on its face and the digitizer region. Now the PDA is working fine. Though the spec of dirt under the screen is still there it isnt bothering the working of PDA anymore. I also brought myself a good screen protector to maintain the cleanliness of the Digitizer. Hope the Problem will not recur again

Wow... so dirt was the cause? That's very interesting... I wonder how much dirt was actually on there! But getting a screen protector is a must have anyway!

Good to hear that it all worked out!

Yes it is working but its not as smooth as it used to be when I brought it. Some times it requires couple of taps before working. But for most practical purposes the PDA touch screen is satisfactory. I still occasionally wipe the screen with cloth if the response is pretty low. I think it is about to die, got to find a new PDA.
