Just returned from HK to USA with my first PDA - HP iPAQ RW6828. Overall very happy with the unit. Thought I did a good job of research but suprised with no camera flash. Battery life is good after you turn off all non-needed functions.
Question, having trouble transferring music files using Exlporer file drag and drop to the iPAQ, any suggestions?
that a great device you have, i belive its the same as XDA Atom.
regarding your question, why not try to install card export on our device. i use this a lot when copying large files to my SD card.
The function of the program is that it make your pocket pc a very expensive card reader but at least you dont have to remove your card to your device.
i hope this helps.
Can I piggy back on this tread to ask some question on the rw6828. I am trying to assign the song that I had downloaded to be the ring tone but I could not find the command to do so.. Hope experts out there can give me a pointer.
Another question is how can I view Chinese character? Any software pack out there that can do the job?
Cheers.
Does this mean you want to assign a ring tone for your phone? if this is the case you can try this.
Using your file explorer, copy your selected songs to this directory windows/rings. After that go to settings next to Sounds and Notifications, then at the drop down list look for the Phone:Incoming Call and choose your ring tone. You can also do this in the phone option menu.
Another way is open your Windows mobile File Explorer and browse the ring tone you want Click and hold, from there you can set the selected file as default ring tone.
I am not sure whether this have to do with WM5 or rw6828
just got mine and have been experiencing bit of problem
1. avantgo, somehow i can't sync any of the news, with both 6.0 or 6.2 beta, does anyone out there know how to get the heck out of the problem. i managed to sync, but up to the last 5 bit, they lost connection.

1. You can try to visit Avango Help they have some answers to your questions.
2. Regarding your Bluetooth beaming files, have you check on your both devices that you have made a partneship, or If the other device is discoverable then it should send no problem!

The above procedure only works for incoming calls. My other frustration is selecting a more audible SMS alert and wake-up/appointment alarm sound.
There's a new operating system on the hp website. I recommend installing this to anyone who has one of these systems. Make sure you back up your system first, ie. sync your handheld. Download the software and then run it on your lap/desktop as you would a normal software package.
When you run the executable file, make sure you are linked via cable etc and the package takes care of the rest. Beware though, if you are not backed up, you will lose all your data.
