Nice forum.
My first day here and I already have a question.
I have an I-mate Jam, and my back speakers arent working. Would someone know how to dismantle this peice open the covers, I have read somewhere that The Imate has this problem with its speakers.
Welcome to the board, and although I have no experience with the Jam besides sometimes tinkering with my brother's... hopefully someone here can chime in.
Welcome again!

Hi to all.
haani
haani! Welcome to Pocket PC Addict. Luckily for you have I searched long and far and found a piece of gold for you... pictures on how to dismantle and take apart your i-mate JAM! I have uploaded the manual in our downloads section which you can find here. The pictures in the compressed file are mainly showing you how to fix the earphone connector, but it does give you enough information to take apart your device so you can check the connectors in the back speaker.
Please dismantle your device at your own risk and remember that doing this will void your warranty, but I'm sure that if you have to fix the unit yourself you are probably out of warranty anyway! Let us know what happens!
And that's why Tim's the man -- great work big guy. Hope that helps you out Haani [i'm sure it will ]!

Thanks so much for the download!! It worked. One of the pins on the back of the speaker had become bent in sort of a doubled over fashion. Was able to correct it enough to restore functionality. Can't imagine trying to figure that out without your nifty guide Link. Thanks again! -Adam R.
Excellent guide Tim. Unfortunately I had a small mishap. In picture 15, I had a real hard time getting the lock off and ended up sligtly damaging it. Then when I put it back on I damaged it a little bit more as well as bending some of the pins. I've now bought an old JAM for spare parts and I'd like to know how you can get the lock off and back on again without damaging it. Cheers, Steve.
Tim, Your step by step instructions on how to dismantle my Xda II mini - HTC Magician were perfect. You saved me a lot of time and money. Thank you so much
