While surfing about the various pocketpc related and mobile related sites the web has to offer, I came across this... a ppc phone with Just about everything I, at least, would like to see in a windows mobile device.
From the article.... "It’s powered by an Intel PXA272 416MHz processor and packs-in 64MB of SDRAM and 64MB of Flash ROM. The display is a generous 2.83-inch QVGA TFT LCD with touchscreen and supports a resolution of 240x320 pixels. It’s quite compact too, measuring 122x60x20mm and weighing just 170g."
If that’s not enough, the P50 integrates a 1.3-Megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom and can handle most of the major audio/video formats for playback. You can even set MP3 clips to be your ringtones. Connectivity options are aplenty - you can choose from WLAN, GPRS, Bluetooth, IrDA, USB, and SDIO, and it comes with all the standard applications that you would expect out of a PDA/Phone."
My opinion, put out a CDMA version and add a VGA screen, and you would have one Hell of a portable.
This is actually the first time I've seen a ppc device that just would tempt me to switch to the pocket pc platform from my current HX4700.. and I love my 4700 But it would hands down replace my blackberry, considering the built in kb, which is one of the biggest bonus' on the blackberry.
So what do others think? Are we just about there with convergient devices? http://www.biosmagazine.co.uk/article.php?id=2778

Bru:
Don't get me wrong, I love the phone but it's just that it's coming into the market MASSIVELY late. I mean c'mon Windows Mobile 2003SE with only 64MB of RAM and 64MB of ROM? My mom could talk about these specs to her grandkids. I wish that the processor could have been at least 520MHz or 624MHz but I'd probably ask for more internal memory before speed.
But yes, there should be a Pocket PC Phone out there with a VGA screen. Your hx4700 is a beaut and I couldn't leave it until they get higher specs. If we could just get the VGA, more memory and faster processor I think we would all agree that we are "there" with convergence devices. But never the less we are seriously close.
