How would one go about making a transiver, or even for that matter, a transmitter, so that you could use a pocket pc with a standard serial gps, for example... a garmin rhino 120?
That's going to be tough if it doesn't explicity work for PPC. You'd need an electrical engineer to do the wiring and a programmer to write device drivers.
You can build or buy a cable (3 wires) between your GPS and PDA.

You'll of course also need a connector with the serial pinouts for your particular PDA, and software like VisualGPS to test with.
