I just received my brand new Asus MyPal 730W and I'm loving it. I purchased thru the PPC Addict store. It was a painfree and positive experience. 128MG's of RAM and two batteries! This thing is smaller than my HP 2215. VGA is the way; the screen looks great. If anyone else is considering the 730W, I am happy to share my experiences with the device.
Kevin
PS - this is my first non-HP/Compaq PPC
I have been a PPC junkie for about four years now.....I like to support the community. I visit PPC Addict daily and appreciate the great information on the site. I will post my impressions of the 730W as I get them. I am still in the infatuation phase. I purchased the extended battery due to all of the reports of poor battery live. The 730W ships with two standard batteries. The extended battery adds a little to the thickness of the 730W, but it is still easy to hold with the extended battery attatched. (It's also still smaller than the 4700 with the extended battery attached.) I also like the form factor of the 730W. I also like having 128MB's of RAM. I haven't been this excited about a PDA since I got my HP1910 a few years ago.
Nice buy manuko! This is probably the best PPC on the market at the moment. Asus have taken up where HP left off after their rapidly fading glory days of the 4150. Although I must say I think the camera adds unnecessary bulk. Also having the stylus slot in the bottom of the device is asking for trouble.........
Thanks.....I have to admit that the stylus on the bottom is not a problem. There is a lot of friction when you insert the stylus into it's silo. Although the build quality is not quite as high with my previous iPAQ's, the size, form, and features far outweigh the deficencies. I am giving up an HP 2215, but my vaja case fits the 730W perfectly. I mulled over the HP 4700, Dell 50V, and the 730W. I do not regret my decision. I believe that size matters.
Yes, it surely does! I am now able to use the h4155 I got for christmas (school kept me from doing so earlier) and it's so much lighter/smaller than any palm I've held! I couldn't use it before because of school and I have nothing installed on it yet...
You have a lot of fun ahead of you. Going from Palm OS to PPC OS is like going from DOS to Windows. Running a more robust OS on a sweet device.... is priceless. Welcome aboard, and enjoy the ride.

It's funny you say that. One memory that's burned into my head is my first 3635 and letting someone hold it for a few seconds. She said "Wow, that is so much heavier than Palms. How can you carry it?
Now they are lighter than Palms.
I went from a Palm III to an iPAQ 3615. I did not want to buy a case for it for fear that it would make the unit too large. (And because it looked pretty cool next to all of those slate grey square Palm Pilots.) Fortunately, Whitney LeBean & Vaja came out with a case + CF slot and kept the size down. I still have that iPAQ. I gave the Vaja case to my father. The screen looked great then.......but it looks washed out now.
