Hello everyone,
My normally trusty Toshiba e800 has developped a strange behaviour over the weekend. The whole thing freezes within a few minutes or even seconds of powering up. I haven't been able to find any rhyme/reason/pattern for this behaviour. I'm running windowsmobile2003SE. The problem started when I had a lot of add-ons such as Wisbar, pocket weather, WebIS mail and Pocket Informant installed, but I've since been through about 5 hard resets and the problem persists. It's gotten to the point where I need several soft resets just to get it to boot. The screen won't accept any input with the stylus and none of the buttons respond. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?
Yeah,
It sounds like a bad board and will need to be repaired. Anything odd happen to your device before this behavior started - any drops?
Hate to be the one to bring bad news, but it's better than going in circles.
Hi Brad,
Thanks for the feedback. I tried everything from reinstalling the rom software to using a ouija board to contact the spirit of my e800 but to no avail. Called toshiba this morning and contrary to most things that have been written about their customer service they've actually been very helpful. Thankfully it looks like this thing is still under warrenty.
