Looking for GPS advice for h5555

Anyone out there using their iPaq h5555 for GPS?
I'm thinking of doing so but am not sure about what hardware and software to buy.
Would appreciate any and all feedback / input.
Thanks.

TomTom

I've got an IPAQ 2210 and Use TomTom Navigator (bluetooth version includes hard and software), I would fully recommend this product, and indeed have to a mate who purchased it and they never looked at a map again.
I found this product easy to install, had a few initial problems with randomly losing the connection to the navigator (solved by installing the Bluetooth update from HP site).
You will need a memory card of a minimum of 128mb, if you have a larger card other applications sit happily next to it (would recommend putting it on a CF card as quicker to start up).
With the maps you only get particular ones, with my version I got Great Britain and the major roads of Europe, Great Britain doesn't include Northern Ireland, Jersey (bugger as going there this weekend), etc. You can purchase other maps but think quite expensive.
Speed wise starting up is the slowest thing (mine takes about 15-20 seconds to load and find GPS unit). Once the app is up and running then it's very fast, the update happens about every second but you don't notice as your position is plotted between updates depending on current speed and direction. Plotting a route is quick around 10 seconds, (from Scotland to London took 20 seconds - 431.7 miles).
The actual GPS unit picks up signals well, including in towns and doesn't get confused when driving through long tunnels. I have a Merc and never had a problem with it's glass or in cars with the new heated windscreens, I've herd some GPS can have problems with this.
There are good user groups around that provide Points of Interest (POI) - these are data files for particular things that are displayed on your map (from cash points to whisky distilleries via train stations).
Finally (if you've stayed awake this long, well done) you will have your initial outlay for the GPS + Software AND you will also need to shell out for a suitable car holder around £35.
Hope this has helped, if you've any specific questions don't hesitate to ask.

I've used my Ipaq 5555 for in car GPS. Worked like a charm with both Navman GPS sleeve and TomTom bluetooth. Highly reccomend. The only down is the speaker in the Ipaq is very low - an issue with those models, so you wont hear the voice prompts too well.
You can get (just) BT tomtom receiver for about 180 USD on ebay or with software from tomtom website for 300.
Navman is good, but they dont have the 3-D (yet) like tomtom has. check out both websites to see what look you prefer, - the prices are about the same and quality is very high on both devices.
I personally prefer TomTom BT recevier - small and easy to place on dashboard, no suction mounts to the winshield unlike Navman. But you'll need a car vent mounted holder for the PPC - only 10 bucks

How much time do you all spend traveling? I would love to get a Bluetooth enabled GPS unit for my Pocket PC, but there is one major problem. I only travel two times per year! Still seems like it would be fun to have, though
