Dell Axim X30

I just got a free Dell Axim X-30 and I am shopping for replacement accessories. I have a Pharos-GPS for HP 3950 and I am thinking of upgrading to the Bluetooth version of the device - I am open to suggestions...
My biggest issues are connectivity... WiFi is fine but I am used to using a sleeve for CF and using a network card and Sprint PCS data modem. Anyone using any SDIO or Bluetooth connectivity?

I use a Socket BT card (CF) with my Toshiba and connect to Verizon with my cell phone. Works great when WiFi is not available.

so you got one of the Axims without Bluetooth? If you use BT, you'd probably be best served by ebaying the new axim and updating to the X30 high...that would free your one SD slot and I've found the bluetooth and wifi range to be exceptional compared to add on cards.
YMMV

I have bluetooth the high version. My phone is not bluetooth and I can not find anyone at Sprint that even knows if they carry a bluetooth phone. I liked the cf card modem I had before... but hated the size of the sleeve... so it is a trade off.

oh I see now...I couldn't figure out why jkendrick was suggesting a bt card..who knows with that guy...
.....(JOKING!) :P :P
Anyway, AT&T has a number of phones that support the Bluetooth GPRS and Verizon as mentioned above. Just depends on if you are willing to switch services or not.
Hey, Sprint does make some cables that allow a connection from your cellphone to a Pocket PC sync port...but they are probably not out for the X30 yet. That's another option that would be better than a sleeve. IMHO

knelson -- how do you like the Axim? I've been using my younger brothers Axim for the past two weeks and I really like it.... (Although I may still get the hx4705 since it's supposed to ship next week)....But I may buy a Krusell case for it....I too have a CF GPS reciever and I would be interested to hear how a BT GPS reciever works out.
But overall, I am really happy with this Axim, it's thin, light and speedy..My problems right now are:
-- I'm almost out of memory since I installed everything that was on my Toshiba
-- I miss the VGA
-- I miss the CF slot

What I like -
It was free!
It is fast
Color is good
has 2003se
What I don't like -
loading all my junk all over again
No CF slot or sleeve
having to figure out a new phone, new GPS
but I did use my 3950 for a long time and now my daughter will use it.

Need some bluetooth advice

I took a dive into this full swing ...
ordered a new GPS (bluetooth) from Dell. As soon as I get it I can submit some feedback, looks like a nice package.
ordered an extra battery from Dell... battery life is only ok with Wifi running.
had to get a new phone from Sprint and finding a bluetooth phone with Sprint is a chore.. seems they have a sony ericcson T608 for customers who say bluetooth or I am gone.. has to be ordered through a special division...
So I will be back here asking about bluetooth headphones and other toys...

I use the Motorola HS810 for a bluetooth headset on my phone....I had a Jabra freespeak 250....they are both good headsets....I would love to hear about the BT GPS device....keep us posted.

The Jabra bluetooth headset connects very easily to the Axim. Of course it's not stereo sound. But GREEEAAT for discreetly watching movies on it.

So far I have the Axim and now a Sony Erickson T608 with the Jabra Speakeasy 250 - waiting for it to charge so I can partner and go on... I wish there was a way to load your address book on your phone through bluetooth from your PPC or even dial your phone.
I am waiting for the GPS and I will write my first review. Hope you are all patient with those of us who are not wordsmiths.
