Hi all,
Im using a toshi 805 with 2003. Our ISP provides a free dial-up acct to broadband customers. (SBC) Formerly I was using a Nokia Cell for dial-up road access via the IR port at 4800 baud for email checking.. worked FINE.
Decided to grab a CF modem for when im away from home.. Purchased an Ambicom EZ jack on closeout.. 20bux.. thank you.
Setting up the PPC was the usual walk in the park, added the connection.. made the dial up attempt.. Sits there saying "DIALING" So I check the conection for bring up terminal after.. sure enough... SBC's server is passing info and connected, its past authentification since the garbage indicating the protocol data is present. Somewhere along the lines SBC made some changes.. Some of these are published port blockings.. including 135,139 dunno if this is an issue here. Tried the cell-irda connection..no connect same issue... sits there and claims its dialing... this worked a month ago and I have made no changes.. Hard reset to try again.. same issue no changes.. SBC recently added to the login username@domain.bla followed by the obvious password..
When I delibratly use an incorrect PW it disconnects so the problem is after the authentification process and appears to be at the beginning of the PPP protocol init. Attempted to reach a level 2 tech to ask if they made any other changes.. But they will not support the trouble ticket due to lack of... who knows.. just wanted to know WHAT changes have been done other then port blocking.. I.E. global domain change to SBCGLOBAL.com... (tried that as well) the dial-up numbers are domain specific.. I.E. xxx-xxxx is for bla.net customers... xxx-yyyy is for blah.yahoo.ispname.net and so on...
Any suggestions or known patches to 2003 for pap PPP connects??
