PC World has posted their top 10 PDA list: 1. HP IPaq Pocket PC H4150
2. Asus MyPal A716
3. HP IPaq Pocket PC H4350
4. Toshiba Pocket PC E405
5. Sony Clie PEG-TH55
6. Toshiba Pocket PC E800
7. PalmOne Zire 72
8. PalmOne Tungsten E
9. PalmOne Tungsten C
10. PalmOne Zire 31
And PDABuzz has a great article insight into why PPCs hold 5 out of the top 6 spots. 1. The hardware is finally growing into the software:
2. More personal and corporate reliance on Outlook:
3. Multi-tasking:
4. Standards:
5. Price:
6. Seemless integration:
7. Leasing:
8. More features:
9. Easier to get connected:
10. Some Office is better than, well, schitzo-Office: Now, there are more points for both sides, but this is a congratulatory piece for Pocket PCs. The bottom line is that the platform has managed to raise the bar and build a more welcomed, more reliable and more well recognized product in the process.
Now, squeeze all that greatness into a Treo 600 like unit that doesn't need a backpack to carry (Hitachi G1000) and they'll really have a winner! (Motorola MPx???)
Check out the article to read the explanation for each of his points. Tell me what you think? Has PPC finally started to get it right?

One thing that is pretty interesting is the price points of the PDA's. Usually the reviewers seem to like the most expensive products the best. It seems that they actually took price into consideration.
Some of the Palms seem to be on the list because of their low cost but decent functionality. I wonder as PPC prices continue to drop will Palm step up on the high-end or will they go for the lower end of the market (and possibly make up in volume).
If the Tungsten E comes down to $120 or the Zire drops to $175 or so, I'll probably buy one just to try it out. Getting people to try a new platform is the first step to making them lifelong customers for Palm.

I believe that will put you in direct violation of the PPCA membership. (Part of the fine print when you created a username) I will be forced to notify the correct authorities!

I said try the Palm, just as a toy. My wife would actually have to make the purchase since I am not allowed to spend any money (walking in the door with three new TIVIOs to replace the two we had did that.) So I think I am safe with the fine print.
I still use a Palm VII on occasion. Whenever I am going somewhere and I am worried about my PPC getting stolen or trashed I just sync it up. My Palm 5000 bit the dust last year when I took an 8ft fall while hiking and I would hate to see my PPC die in such a horrible way.
Please don't banish me yet, I can do better, really I can.

Um, if you want the correct results then perhaps you should notify the INcorrect authorities.
