e800 users... get 'em while they're hot

Attention Shoppers! Today's blue-light special can be found here.

The Mugen batteries have gone on sale over at eBay. I don't think the extended batteries are up yet but I wouldn't be able to cram one of those in my Pixel Firma case anyways.
And for you gear heads:
Quote:
INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION IS:
One brand new HLI-E800SL 3.7v, 2000mAh replacement battery that fits all E800 / E805 Pocket PC's made by Toshiba
This is a brand new item and not refurbished or gray market.
FEATURES:
Li-ION technology (No memory effect)
Guaranteed 100% compatible with Toshiba E800 / E805 PDA's
Color is Deep Blue
Manufactured by Mugen Power which means Quality!
More than 50% higher capacity than batteries sold by Toshiba (2000mAh vs. 1320mAh)
30-day money back guarantee (less shipping fees)
One year manufacturer's warranty
Price is US $54.95 plus $5 shipping to the US.
Anyway... support the third party manufacturers cause Toshiba sure ain't pumping out any new product for you right now.
PS - They're all the rage among the exceedingly small yet exceeding otaku-ish fan base of e800 users in Japan...

BK-
Yea, I was surprised I never heard from you about this cause I figured it would be something right up your alley. I have been a shill over on the BH forums about this battery and have posted several times about how darn happy I am with it. Simply, it is the best hardware upgrade you can get for your Tosh... a complete no-brainer.
The seller got mine shipped overseas and to me in less than 5 days after ordering. The extra mA umph makes a difference as my run-time went from an average of 2 hours to almost 3 and a half (that's all off-line / no wi-fi stuff). And at the cost of only an extra millimeter on the back of the device. It's a tight fit but it can still get into the Piel Frama case so I'm a really happy camper. (and I mean that literally... this has already gone with me on a couple of camping trips )
Now the really cool news is that Mugen is planning on releasing maybe TWO more batteries! One is a 3800 mA but reactions have been decidedly mixed because ... well just look at the prototype shots:

BTW, these images are stolen from the BH thread, if a moderator could host them here... or someone could PM and tell me how to do that I know it would be more polite.
No one was really excited about this "stump" version. BUT... the manufacturer read the complaints and... I think... is planning a full-back version Super Extended Battery that is rated at... wait for it... 5400 mA!
You're looking at over 5 hours of up time in a form factor similar to Toshiba's own extended battery. There's more info here. The producer and distributor have been quiet for the last 10 days or so but we're hoping to hear some good news soon.

Extra Juice

I purchased one of the regular batteries with 2000mAh. It is sweet. The difference is incredible. I thought there for a while that something was wrong with my unit because I didn't have in drain in a couple of days. It is a hair bigger than the stock battery so it doesn't fit in a hard case well but work great in my Vaja case. If your look for improved performance, this is the way to do it. Not sure about the high capacity. But who knows. I still have a brand new case from one of my old IPAQ's that was designed for the CF card adaptor. Might be a right fit for this addition.
