Battery Problems

My friend, which I have referred to this site (she'll be visiting soon), has an iPAQ 2215. SEVERAL times since she's had it (bought it brand new in January or February, this year) it has died for whatever reason (probably because the option to auto turn off after 3 minutes was not selected). After dying it loses all the info and loses the partnership so when she syncs it, it asks to set up a partnership again. I know they have backup batteries for that reason, am I correct? Hers has one, and it's at %100. I know mine has one and it's died a few times for the same reason but I never lost any info or the partnership. Is that going to be a bad backup battery problem for HP to handle or is there another reason for it? Please let me know.

This is very interesting....I had an Ipaq 3835 and the same thing would happen (not as often as your friend) but the battery would run down and I would lose all my information....but my Toshiba has run down but never lost all the information....
I'll have to search around to see what to do to counteract this...or what the cause is...

The first thing that comes to my mind is the iPAQ h2215 required a few patches early on that if not used could lead to battery drain. The first one is if she is running an older version of Calligrapher (6.5 and before) when she turns off her device it doesn't really turn off. It sort of goes into a sleep mode, while still draining power.

I don't know why....but I immediately got this picture in my head of a TV show I used to watch when I was a kid..."Ultra Man" and his blinking light showing his power was almost gone!

Is Calligrapher a program that was already on there? If not, she didn't put it on there. Is there a way to get the patches?
Thanks!

Help with New Battery saying AC ONLY??
permalink
permalink
Hi ho out there. CAN ANY ONE HELP!!
I have an I-mate pocket PC...
So i have just been sent 2 new replacement batteries (02 XDZll / MDA ll). All are Lion and they dont work? The "back up" side of it charges ok but the "main " battery says "AC only" ?
Can any one enlighten me to what this means?
My existing battery (PH17B) STILL FUNCTIONS AND CHARGES NORMALLY but is getting old and no longer holds the charge for any length of time now (as they do with age)
Cheers for that
