Hey, how's it goin? I just got back from my cingular store with a Cingular 8125 Pocket PC, and its a large jump up from the tin cup and string I had before... I did a bit of searching, and this place seems like a friendly place to learn.
Basically I am looking for a Remote app and an SNES emulator, to no effect (for my particular phone anyway) but I'm open to suggestions, what do you fellow 8125'ers like thats out there? any must haves?
Hi. I just got myself a cingular 8125 too. I even using it right now to surf pocket PC addict. =) anyway can you guys also name some software that's a must needed to enchance the experience with the 8125. Thank you

Welcome to Pocket PC Addict BitBaXeMan! Glad you jump up and got a Cingular 8125! Here is what I recommend:
Remote: NoviiRemote
SNES Emulator: PocketSNES - get it in our downloads section here!
Let us know if you have any more questions and welcome again!

Sadly neither of these work with the 8125... The NoviiRemote site says they are working for a quickfix because I guess it has to do with the processor... same thing with Pocket Snes I think... It has three options for the processors that are available, but the one in the 8125 isn't there
Aww dang, thats right, it uses the TI OMAP 850 proc. I personally don't use these programs, but I should have tested them for you just to be sure...
Sorry about that!
Good news however, there is a beta version of NoviiRemote that works with the Cingular 8125. Check out the forum page here for the download!
You can try MorphGear for the time being (I haven't had time to check on my K-JAM if it works), and maybe even overclock your Cingular 8125 if you choose...
For organizing your "main screen"
SPB Pocket Plus (in our download section!!)
for quick keyboarding, a smart program:
TENGO free keyboard (TenGO)
please note that the paid version includes a spanish dictionary that really works!!!
It works now, mang... I'm having trouble getting it to work with the devices I want it to work with, but I'm not getting the error message I used to in the beginning mentioning processor troubles
Now I just need to get an SNES emu... any help here fella's? You guys are more than friendly and helpful here, thanks in advance
I just checked it out, but I'm getting wierd error messages out of it... something about not having enough memory... I don't know if that means memory as in ram, like it would on a computer, if that means memory as in disk space... I gotta get myself a mini-sd card, this much is definitely true
Yeah... you definetly want to get a miniSD card to at least store your pictures and music. However, I'd recommend installing the programs on the card as well!
But I digress, MorphGear (as well as other programs) needs as much available memory (RAM) as possible to run smoothly.
Memory is a bit funky on Pocket PCs as your RAM can also be your disk space too...
Hello I recently bought the cingular 8125. I just ordered the software program...pocketfritz 2. When I loaded the CD onto my notebook pc it opened up a window asking what programs I wanted to add or remove, and this didnt list pocketfritz2 (only asked if I wanted to add or remove xpress mail program). It also said that if the program i am trying to add is not listed, then this means it may not be compatible. This seems weird because pocketfritz says it is compatible with windows mobile 5.0. Anyone that can help me? Thanks
Hi, repitwa21 !!!
Emulator is a software that makes your machine behave like another (as in letting programs run on it, that usually wouldn't)... for example you might get a "GameBoy" emulator that lets you play "GameBoy" games on your PC (or PPC)
Hey folks. New 8125 user here. Just downloaded Morphgear, the necessary module, and a rom (smc format I think). morphgear runs, but when i try to load a game it says not enough memory. That must be internal because i have a 1gb card, or is the program too big for the 8125? Thanks.
nevermind, got it to work, although its not as sweet as hoped, but graphics are great.
MorphGear was the only snes emulator that I could get to smoothly on my 8125, and that was with no sound and nothing else running. I'm currently applying tweaks to see if I can get it playable at a good speed with sound.
I have a 2 gb 150x minisd card that I installed Morphgear directly onto for anyone who is interested.
EDIT: I applied the speed tweaks and Morphgear is playable with sound, but it is not smooth enough to call it perfect. I'm playing using the keyboard and the screen orienation set to east. If anyone else knows of a better working snes emulator that uses less memory please let me know.
EDIT 2: I overclocked my phone to 252 MHZ and moved the games over to my card also and now snes playing on Morphgear is perfect... Sound and everything. Every Cingular 8125 user needs to get smartskey and omapclock. They are great freeware programs that let you overclock your ppc with extreme ease and constantly runs for all programs all the time (even after standbys). The default setting is for 264 and 276 has been reported to be mostly stable (terrible battery life), but I run 252 to be safe and everything is perfect. SNES is possible on 8125

Hi, I have tried to play Mario RPG with Morph and it was very laggy. Later I try Pocket Snes that thing works great. I have not even overclock the 8125 and it emulate Mario RPG in a very good pace. Chrono runs near perfect without even overclock. Just wondering have u ever try to use Pocket SNES?

Yes I did, but I like Morphgear's support of the landscap veiw and easy button reconfigeration. There just aren't enough soft keys for portait veiw in my opinion, plus I hate having to switch hands on the control pad in order to get to more softkeys.
Also Pocket Snes was terrible with the Mega Man X rom. Thats the only game I was interested in playing when I went through all this trouble.
I cant seem to get MorphGear of PocketNES to work smoothly even with a 240mhz overclock. MorphGear works the better of the two, but I am getting FPS's as low as 22(fps). My Memory looks like this before I run the program:
Storage: 16.69MB Free
Program: 23.87MB Free
I have as much stuff as I can on my 1GB SD card, used Tweaks2k2, Memaid, Overclocker, pretty much everything I have found by searching on this site. If there is something I overlooked, please let me know. I would appreciated it greatly.
