Microsoft's Turtle, Pure, and Surface Tablet, continued...

Numerous sources are reporting that Microsoft has a couple exciting projects in the works. Looks like the Redmond company is currently on the scout for a person with interest in the Zune, Xbox and Surface for their mini surface tablet. Microsoft's Surface team is said to be involved, perhaps suggesting a wider product line/branding than just the current table-top computer. There seems to be evidence that shows the tablet will be more of a reader and that Microsoft may actually wait for Apple's tablet to hit the markets first. This new Microsoft tablet is part of something called "Alchemy Ventures" and with at least one exec from Microsoft's Surface team. If we're right and Microsoft is waiting to see what Apple is working on before showing off Redmond's competing design, we should get a glimpse in February...

As for their Pink phones, sources say they will be built on Windows Moble 7, which means we're probably not going to seem them until 2010. There should also be two Microsoft phones being manufactured by Sharp under the Pink name. The oddly shaped phone with slide out keyboard shown on the right has been named "Turtle" and the other phone is a candybar slider called "Pure." It is possible that the rumored handsets will be announced in January 2010, but any phone from Microsoft's Pink skunkworks project wouldn't launch until Windows Mobile 7 was ready, an OS not expected to ship on consumer devices until the end of 2010.
