Soon, waiting is over! It is understandable that AT&T - an American widely hated carrier, that has exclusivity for iPhone, is not too eager to release other touchscreen phones...
... so, the rumor has it that both HTC Touch Diamond2 (codename Warhawk) and HTC Touch Pro2 (codename Fortress) will be released at AT&T in October 2009 and they will be released right away with Windows Mobile 6.5 pre-installed! Previously rumors were claiming that these phones are coming already in August or September, but it is probably too optimistic.
While Verizon has the best coverage in USA, AT&T has better coverage than T-Mobile USA and thus for people interested in using SIM-cards and GSM networks, it looks like AT&T is the best choice in USA.
In next 1-2 months both Windows Mobile app store and first phones with Windows Mobile 6.5 out-of-the-box are coming, so we are expecting that HTC might yet surprise us and HTC can show yet some other new phone, that would be different than Diamond2 and Pro2, but of course we cannot be certain of that... so if you would like to get latest HTC phone with Windows Mobile, then Pro2 (with QWERTY keyboard) and Diamond2 (touchscreen only) are the best choice for you!
