Sprint leads in download speeds

With the results for AT&T and Verizon already released, the long awaited test results of a sample of Sprint subscribers recording their 3G handset speeds has finally come out! Looks like Sprint isn't doing too bad at all or more like AT&T needs to step it up. It has lower download and upload speeds compared to Sprint.

Here are the results for comparison:

Sprint -
Average download speed, EV-DO Rev. A: 1361kbps
Average upload speed, EV-DO Rev. A: 267kbps

AT&T -
Average download speed, EV-DO Rev. A: 933kbps
Average upload speed, EV-DO Rev. A: 180kbps

Verizon -
Average download speed, EV-DO Rev. A: 701kbps
Average upload speed, EV-DO Rev. A: 322kbps

According to the article, results for Sprint were the most consistent indicated better reliability for this carrier. With their CDMA 1xEV network and all that extra airspace, Sprint's in the lead as the best choice for wireless broadband.
