Reviews are already coming out for one of the most highly anticipated devices of 2009.
Some positive attributes include it's vibrant, rich display with a 3.1 inch screen (easier to stick in your pocket than an Apple iPhone). The Palm Pre fits easily in your hand and is compact when closed. It houses a perfect blend of touch/multi-touch screens. Not to mention a decent battery life!
Uh oh. The main problem seems to be its rubberized coated keyboard. Looks like BlackBerry users won't be switching anytime soon. Neither will Apple users who are used to softer touch keys. Palm is still lagging light years behind RIM and Apple in keyboard design, but who could blame them? That's tough competition.
What about the device as a whole? Early reviewers are already commenting on the cheap light feeling and possible design issues. Not that Palm has been known for their high end designs, but at $586 (without contract), we were expecting a bit more.
Let's see how the device holds up on the next wave of reviewers!
