According to a story posted on Engadget, the price of the Palm Pre with no contract is to total $549! That is just for the option to be off contract. It does not mean that you can hop over and use it with Verizon. While most people will probably get the Pre for $200 using Sprint subsidies, those of you who were lucky enough to get on Sprints SERO plan might actually want to buy the Pre at full price. After doing a PV analysis, you save about $1164 throughout the entire life of a two year contract. That doesn’t include the value not being attached to a contract. That might come in handy if say a new iPhone or WindowsMobile6.5 phone comes out.
