GearDiary has been covering Sprint's SERO plan's story for a long time now. Finally, it seems like an end to the Sprint SERO plan. SERO stands for Sprint Exclusive Referal Offer.
What is Sprint SERO? It pretty much is the employee's plan. What's cool about it is that you pretty get a lot of services for paying very basic minimum. This happened under the former CEO of Sprint. Of course, Dan Hesse came in to improve things and this may be part of the "better"-ing Sprint.
Seriously, so how cheap are we talking about? I have 500 minutes, EV-DO Rev. A, free SMS, free MMS, free minutes after 7PM and weekend. I'm paying about $30 a month. Of course, with tax, it'd be $36-$38 a month. I don't know why it fluxuate by a dollar monthly.
Anywho, the plan was in their viral marketing campaign. They were doing this by words of mouth. Of course, it's been working well for Sprint and many many people have switched from other providers to Sprint. I was one of those. So what's going on exactly? They changed the SERO program to a program called "Everything Plus Referral Program".
Now, if you're interested in getting the deal, it'll actually make you put in the last 3-digit of a Sprint employee ID. However, the price isn't the same. The price will now be $59.99 with the things I've listed earlier. 1000 minutes would be $79.99 and unlimited everything would be $99.99.
Well... now that I've got many of you drool all over this. It's sad to remind all of us again that it is over. The deal is now dead. It was dead as of 7.13.08.
Good bye Sprint SERO... and not for long, I guess we'll be saying good bye to Sprint PCS soon...
Don't believe me? type in the address bar for the SERO plan (www. sprint.com /sero) Sorry, I have to make it with space, if not, it'd link with a name
