But honestly, why go out into the baking sun, the freezing cold, or anything in between when you could hole up in your sunless, lifeless, loveless lazyboy/1080i/surround sound/TiVo habitation and live in virtual bliss? Isn't that what humans are supposed to do? Change the environment to fit us!

Besides, didn't you know that all cable is being upgraded to digital signal?
But where did I put that remote control.... I don't want to move, it would spill all the baked lays I worked so hard to setup on my belly for later consumption.
Oh well, ever since I got my mobile device to work as my remote control, I don't need to worry about lower life form things like getting up to look for the channel flipper.

This isn't in the too distant future due to the recent updates that TiVo has made to their networking process. "the [updated] telnet protocol allows you to manually feed a variety of remote commands to a networked TiVo".
The process is not complete, and the need for an application to complete the remote commands needs to be created, but there is definitely a huge potential for something magical to happen here. Its like we are so close to the gold at the end of the skittles rainbow we can smell it!
