PXT Portal and PXT Probe alternate networking solutions released for Windows Mobile.

I love the internet don't get me wrong. But its kind of the whole concept of connecting people, becoming more mobile, and community that I really love.

This is why I'm always trying to scour the web for news regarding new forms of connectivity, or in this case networking all together.

The PXT Portal and the PXT Probe utilize your device's bluetooth function to create a little wifi-like server for any devices that have the PXT Probe to find and connect themselves to.

The Pxt Probe is basically always looking around for any portals that it could connect to. Kind of like a Bluetooth server.

Uses for this little alternate connection could turn out to be quite interesting....

"Who's that person seated two tables over in the restaurant? Is that a friend three rows in front of me at the game? What's new at the museum across the street? With PXT Probe software, a smartphone or PDA user can identify and scan all nearby PXT Portals and decide whether to view their content. In addition, a security mechanism allows PXT Portal users to control who can access their content."

Exciting times I tell ya'. For those interested, feel free to read more here.
