While this post may not be related to the Mobile Device community, in my humble opinion, this issue is related to the Mobile community in everyway.
If you clicked on this post, you like I, are possibly an avid coffee drinker, always looking for the next excuse to intake such "dangerously" high levels of caffine. Either that or you are just bored.
In any case, there is a "blood brain barrier", that protects your central nervous system from harmful chemicals that could potentially be carried up the blood stream, and damage your little (or big) light in the attic. Unrelated studies have shown that cholesterol can tend to make this barrier "leaky", which in turn may lead to increased vulnerability of the brain.
In one study held at the University of North Dakota, two groups of rabbits were fed an extreme amount of cholesterol. The first group was given some steaming hot, delicious coffee to drink with their high-cholesterol diet, while the second, more boring, more tired group of rabbits were not given any caffine.
"After 12 weeks of a high-cholesterol diet, the blood brain barrier in those given caffeine was far more intact than in those given no caffeine."
In a sense, caffine helped to bolster the physical defenses in the brains of the coffee fed rabbits. The caffine-less group just had hard times waking up in the morning, and were often caught "sleeping on the job".
Admittedly, the brains of rabbits and humans are not the same, and may have slight differences in their mechanics. These slight differences may or may not nullify all of the above research and hypothesis. Of course this claim does not consider the fact that many modern humans have the equivalant thinking capacities of rabbits.
I guess the moral of this story would be that Starbucks is expensive, so make your own coffee.
