Samsung Creates Mobile Water Energy

If you haven't heard the news yet, Samsung has developed a new way to create energy for your mobile phone. This way uses one of our most natural resources; water.

Samsung's VP of the Electro-Mechanics research centre explained metal and water react in the phone together to create hydrogen gas once the phone is powered on. Many other developed fuel cells require methanol to produce hydrogen, while Samsung's developments trump the past models not needing it at all.

Once the water reacts with metal to create hydrogen gas, it is then moved to the fuel cell to react with oxygen, thus generating energy.

Producing up to 3 watts of electricity, this micro-fuel cell has enough energy to power a mobile device for 10 hrs, making our current batteries look like wimps. Samsung says these water-powered cell phones and devices could be on the market in 2010, however as we know with all business, it's just an estimate. Make sure to keep an eye out.
