Do any of you remember Nokia's first N-gage gaming platform/cellphone?
It wouldn't be any big surprise if you didn't, as the first couple of attempts did not fair so well. But just because Nokia lost a couple thousand sales here, or hundred thousand in profit there, didn't mean they stopped.
Thankfully, this is one of those cases where persistance paid off. With some of the advances in Mobile technology, the new N-Gage gaming platforms have more capability, but most importantly better networking than ever before.
While the PSP or the DS has secured most of the mobile gaming market, the N-Gage may fill the multi-player needs that the market has been craving. Very reminiscent to the Xbox....
The best thing about this may be that Nokia device users probably do not even need to buy any new devices. Just a simple software download and you are on your way to online gaming, or just gaming in general.
"If you've got an N81, N81 8GB, N82, N95 or N95 8GB, you can go download and install the service now (available on both Mac and PC)."
For those of you interested in the software, or own one of the above devices, check out the following: N-Gage Download
