Was the catchy hook that was being marketed by Sprint for use with the Palm Centro.
Personally I thought the line was a bit corny, but the 1 million Palm Centro users may disagree.
That number is correct, Palm announced today that it made its 1 millionth sale for the foundling Smart Phone. This number and sale rate is estimated to grow, in a snow-ball like effect once it begins its global release in 10 countries world-wide.
While there are several speculations as to its success, the facts are much more interesting.
"A recent Palm survey of Centro customers ... indicates that 70 percent are first-time smartphone users. When compared to other Palm smartphones, Centro also is reaching almost double the number of women, more than double the number of customers under age 35, and nearly three times as many customers with a household income of less than $75,000."
As of current, Palm's Centro holds 11% of all the total mobile device sales in the U.S. And whats even more amazing is that the commercial with the mini-me's running around everywhere like it was yesterday!
All of this is good news, as a larger Smart Phone market means more product attention for not only the huge numbers of Centro users, but their fellow Smart Phone competition as well. With a larger number of sales to consider, pleas for improvement will be better heard, and better handled.
