Engadget In Trouble With T-Mobile?

If you see the magenta color that is associate with wireless mobile, you may think of T-Mobile right away. If not, maybe after seeing their commercials or advertisements, then you would. What about Engadget Mobile?

T-Mobile's owner is belittling our beloved resources of lots of our news, Engadget Mobile. Deutsche Telekom has written a letter from their legal department requesting that Engadget Mobile will stop using that magenta color on its Engadget Mobile website. From time to time, a blog will receive hatred letter or angry fan mails about each post and that is quite normal, but this is quite a bit odd.

Although T-Mobile did patent the color magenta to be its primarily color for advertisement. Noone else is allowed to use it in the purpose of promoting telephones. So that it won't be confused between T-Mobile and whatever company it is that is using that color. However, doing that to a blog is just a little bit weird to me... and probably a lot others out there. This is the message that Engadget received from a dude named David Beigie, a vice president of corporate communications for T-Mobile USA,
Quote:
"As a trademark owner, from time to time Deutsche Telekom looks at usage that could lead to confusion in the marketplace. The letter sent by DT merely outlines these perspectives and is meant to simply open a dialogue. Engadget continues to pioneer forums for discussion of wireless industry developments and innovation. T-Mobile respects the role Engadget and its readers play in advancing dialog on these important topics."
If you read my posts enough, you can probably tell that I'm a big fan of T-Mobile. After this, that was just a bad bad move.

If Tmobile decides to push this , all it will accomplish is to push others away from them
