Widely misunderstood, the humble term "hacker", since its conception has been continuously dragged through the mud. For those of you who are aware of this "hacker" sub-culture, it is just a crying shame.
And to add yet another cheery to this dangerously large cake, the infamous Loads.cc "hacking" group was traced as the main culprit during a recent Screen Saver scam. The "malware gang" is allegedly "responsible for the distribution and installation of massive amounts of malware: Spambots, keyloggers, DDoS bots, adware and rootkits,".
While there are several members of our newly forming "online" community, that can fend off attempts by corrupted coders, there are just as many that cannot. Groups like Loads.cc while are being combated by corporate hire hackers, but for the most part, find no counter-measures from their fellow online community members.
As we become increasingly more mobile, and more able to access these threats, perhaps we as a community will become more apt to combat said threats internally.
