Amidst the hybrid fuel automobile market war, Toyota has already begun its search for the newest form of battery power.
Before we address the unknown, Toyota has already completed their Lithium-Ion Battery Car design and have announced plans to release this car in 2010. With the break-throughs in the lithium-ion battery research, we have been seeing lithium-ion batteries all over the place.
The rumors now, are saying that some new oxidized zinc compound is in the current research spotlight. This is interesting as it is virtually impossible to make oxidized zinc reaccept electric charge.
In any case, it will be interesting to see the new forms the old, trusty battery takes on. Perhaps the future cells that Toyota envisions will one day provide us with phones that never need to be recharged.
