If the title didn't make any sense, here's the clarification. Samsung Ace is coming to Sprint, but it's more than newsworthy than other phones or devices because the arrival of this phone will let Sprint has a global phone in its arsenal.
Samsung Ace is just like all sprint phones. It uses CDMA cellular technology, but it also has an unlocked slot for a GSM SIM card. You also have an option of using Sprint's GSM roaming plan. Sprint can now let one phone around and loose around the world. The Ace's real name is called Samsung SPH-i325.
It looks very similar to a BlackJack II, but it has a diffferent keyboard. It has a tablet shape of a keyboard. The keyboard is also QWERTY. It has 2.3-inch QVGA display. It'll support the 3G from Sprint, which is the EV-DO. It can also connect to the GSM almost anywhere (900/1800 Mhz), since around the world are using it (according to Wikipedia). However, with GSM, it'll only connect to 2.5G, or EDGE.
The device will be carrying a Windows Mobile 6 Standard. No touchscreen. You can still do the same junk, just no touchy feely on the screen. Or else, they'll be just smudges and scratches. The phone is not too heavily packed, but it will work. With 64MB of RAM and 128MB of ROM. Bluetooth 2.0 and 1.3 MP camera. It also has a microSD slot, but sadly, not for SDHC.
The size is manageable and the talk time is decent for a Windows Mobile device at 4.3 hours of continuous digital talk time. I just found out that it's ready to be picked up at $200 a pop with 2-year service agreement and $100 mail-in-rebate.
