Verizon Wireless: Hello Lawsuit (Too) For ETFs

After having T-Mobile opened the door of lowering Early Termination Fee, subscribers else where decided to join the party and became "sue-happy" to their wireless carriers.

Apparently, there's a "huge class action against Verizon Wireless" that might make the network giant coughs up near $1 billion in refunds for the ETFs. No trial date has yet been set, but it is expected to be sometimes middle of year or later.

Apparently, prorating the ETFs isn't news, nor has the lawsuits involving with it. There are lawsuits that had been going on between the Verizon Wireless's subscribers and the wireless company. This will lawsuit will hopefully be "an opportunity to ensures that Verizon customers who have been charged illegal early termination fees will have an opportunity to prove their claims on a class-wide basis adn to seek a refund of nearly a billion dollars worth of illegal charges." I guess that is some serious business.

Verizon Wireless joined other companies, such as AT&T, Sprint PCS and T-Mobile to prorate ETFs, but apparently, it wasn't enough. T-Mobile was sued late last year by some dude in California and I'm guessing that there are more lawsuits to follow. Considering there are still Sprint PCS and AT&T still left on the table top.
