I'm sure we all are expecting some layoff going on for Sprint sooner or later. They even announced it that at least 4000 people will be gone this time around. Well, they have begun. The process is in place and some people already received the cold shoulders and shafts.
To start off, what surprised me the most is not that the layoff is happening, but the layoff now begins with the top people! Let's start off at Chief Financial Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and President of Sales. To clear it off, those are Paul Saleh, Tim Kelly and Mark Angelino will be "stepping down".
If you remember, Paul Saleh was the interim CEO while Foresee "stepped down".
To replace them: For CFO is going to be William Arendt, a Senior Vice President and Controller. CMO is going to be John Garcia, currently a Senior Vice President of Product Development and Management. Now, for President of Sales, it'll be Paget Alves, a current Sprint Nextel's regional president for sales and distribution.
All of these guys are going to be reporting directly to Dan Hesse, who seems to be cracking the whip pretty well.
