HTC was doing really well and selling devices just like hotcakes. It even had a recorded sales in the month of November. The number expected by analysts were not at all close to the actual number.
The number at the end of December is still a big number at 20 percent. The expected number actually was at 33 percent. That shows that HTC had a steep drop last month. What didn't help was the shortage in the 3G chipsets, but it shouldn't have hurt this much.
One of the biggest sales product for HTC is the HTC Touch, which sold nearly 1.5 million and the end of September despite the limited sales in the US. HTC has a large market in Asia and Europe selling its Touch phones. The US became the latest option when Sprint added the HTC Touch as their option.
HTC has not yet released the end of the year report.
