When you're in an airplane and someone just leaned over their seat on your laps and not saying anything or noticing anything... what do you do? If you're nice, you might just sit tight and be quiet. Imagine that if you can annoy the heck out of that person so that s/he would move the seat back to where it was, wouldn't that be grand?
Well, thanks to EU regulators, that dream becomes a little bit more solid than it was than yesterday. They're trying to approve a plan to allow in-flight cell phone use.
Although the previous studies have shown that cell radios may interfere with the in-flight nav systems, so they are tryingt o mount the satellite-link "pico cell" in passenger compartment instead. The pilots will then be able to allow or not enabling of the cell phone usage.
If this goes through, it'll only have 2G at first and improve to 3G later. This will be up depends on each country and airline. Keep your dreams up, boys and girls.
