Well, Mozilla just announced that they will launch their mail client as a unique branded offering. They are expanding this section of their company to make the program improved and better. Doing so, they got Dr. David Ascher to join up. Dr. Ascher is a well established active member of Mozilla community and a leader in the open source community!
The original users of Thunderbirds don’t have to worry yet. They will still get regular update.
Although, the Thunderbird is not yet ready to be plugged in with our phones, but maybe this is one small step from our perspective of Mozilla, but it may very well be a giant step for all mankind (who uses Thunderbird)?
