Coming Monday, Microsoft will attempt to convince US regulators that the soon to be vacated 700MHz television frequency can be used to provide wireless internet services without interfering with other broadcast signals. According to the company, the first prototype that caused static on other signals was defected. They have a new model which worked successfully in demonstration runs for the FCC last week. Microsoft, as well as Intel Corp., and Google have been encouraging the FCC to make the vacated frequency to be available without license.
