iPhone denting the cellular market

Since its release the iPhone has been influencing the cell phone industry. According a ChangeWave survey, the iPhone has taken 1% of the market, and 16% of those surveyed plan to buy the iPhone within the next six months. 16% is believed to be higher than any other manufacturer. 77% of iPhone users are very satisfied with the purchase. As oppose to blackberry users who reported only 50% satisfaction. Verizon market share has decreased by 29%. T-mobile is down 5%, Sprint falling 3%, while AT&T’s share increased to 28%.

I think the mac news boys may not be painting a realistic picture.

iPhone may be getting 1% of new sales, There are other models selling better...no mention of those.

They are also experiencing the highest return rate of any single phone model. BB users seldom return the phone because most are corporate issue and were not selected by the end user.

Actual market share numbers are NOT available as these companies only report revenues on a quarterly basis. There's a lot of hype built into this cute little press release.
