With all the hype about new phone releases, especially the iPhone, it seems as if HP has no choice but to “quietly” release its first Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone. Known as the iPAQ 510 Voice Messenger, you can get this device from HP itself, as well as some online retailers. However, it is not supported through any wireless carriers, and therefore, will only be offered as an unlocked version. The iPAQ 510 can be used with any GSM carrier, and holds the price of $320.
Here is an Overview of the iPAQ 510 Smartphone:
Quad-band GSM phone with CPRS and EDGE
Number-pad, not a built-in keyboard
2-inch, QVGA display (not touchscreen)
Runs on Windows Mobile 6 Standard
Sports both Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth
200 MGz TI 850 OMAP processor
64 MB of RAM, 128 MB of ROM
1.3 megapixel camera
4.7 inches tall, 2.8 inches wide, and 0.7 inches thick.
Weights 5.8 ounces
MicroSD Card Slot
With an exterior that only proves to be mediocre, and tagged with a pricey cost of $320, seems to me HP doesn’t have much to brag about. Perhaps it is a good idea to keep low with their very first WM6 smartphone. What do you think? Feel free to share your ideas.
