Being a version of the HTC Mogul and the successor of the PPC-6700, Sprint is now introducing the PPC-6800 to us! The question that everyone is asking is—when? While nothing is definite, the latest reports have said that its launch will take place on June 18. Yet, rumor also has it that the device may be launched as late as October. Though we don’t know much about the day of its release, we do know some things about the smartphone itself.
Here’s what we know so far:
Internal memory of 256 MB
Camera Resolution upgraded to 2.0 MP
400 MHz processor from Qualcomm (which is a bit slower than the PPC-6700)
Includes a 512 MB card with the device
64 MB of RAM
EV-DO Revision A
Includes Wi-Fi b/g
Bluetooth 2.0
MicroSD card slot
Offers faster wireless data transfers
Runs on Windows Mobile Professional
According to a document that was leaked, the report says that the base price of thePPC-6800 will be $550, the price dropping to $400 with a two-year contract. The smartphone will hit Sprint stores on June 16, so stay tuned for its launch shortly (we hope) after that. The PPC-6800 may hit us sooner than we think, so make sure you keep an eye out for it during the follow weeks! [via Brighthand]
