Windows Mobile 6 Standard device users have recently experienced problems of synchronizing with Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) on Windows Vista. Currently WMDC does not support synchronization with Windows Mobile 6 Standard devices and on top of that ActiveSync 4.5 is not supported on Vista.
Microsoft has realized this issue and released a statement regarding a fix: Currently, Windows Mobile 6 users can synchronize files between PCs and smartphones with Active Sync 4.5. Microsoft will update Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) on Windows Vista PCs to support file synchronization with Windows Mobile 6 by mid-June. We appreciate our customers continuing to use ActiveSync 4.5 for file synchronization until this update is available and are looking forward to offering the WMDC synchronize option very soon.
If you are one experiencing these problems it looks like you’ll have to wait until the fix, unless you find a temporary solution. But if you’re looking to get a WM6 Standard device and you’re running Vista, you’ll probably be better off waiting another month.
I have an HTC touch with win mobile 6 professional. I synced with xp and vista a few times , but now whatever I do it wont sync with with xp(activesync 4.5) or win mob dev centre on vista.
