Bad news comes to us today as CNET Asia reports that HP will not be releasing any Windows Mobile 6 upgrades for the iPaq hw6900, rw6800, rx4000, and rx5000. The reasons for this decision are because of “the potential for long delats, as well as possible carry-over costs”. HP will continue to offer these devices but with the same old Windows Mobile 5.0.
If you’re a devout HP mobile device user then I suggest looking at the iPaq 512 Voice Messenger Smarphone which will run off Windows Mobile 6 Standard.
If you feel that HP is making our expensive devices obsolete due to a lack of their support then sign the petition. Hopefully we may see an update to our perfectly future proof devices...
